I am not a morning person so I think it may be hard for me. When I'm helpdesk I work 8-5, but when I'm not, I work 9-6. I'm sure I can do it and I would be happy with 3 day weekends, but I don't really know if my productivity would be the same.

Yes... More Socom games is a must. Does anyone know when the new patch comes out? (I think it is 1.5)

Everyone that ends up doing the 4/10 week seems to like it better anyway so I hope the same goes for you. And we still have Socom to kill each other in! The Wednesday game needs to come back!

I didn't think being intropective automatically took your right to being old. If that was the case George would have been old a lot longer than I. ;-)

I don't plan on stopping my gaming. I currently have so many games that I have bought over the last couple of years (several PS2 games) that I haven't played yet. The majority of them are RPGs so I have many hours of play time ahead of me. I do have one planned purchase and that is the DLC for Fallout 3. I also wouldn't get rid of my internet. I've had a connection for at least 15 years now (I think) and that would be hard to give up. At one time I had 2 phone lines so I could do dial up on one and still have the phone for the other. :-)

Going back to government spending, I may end up working 4 10 hour shifts for the 2nd half of the summer so the school can try to save some money. There is talk of furough days (days off no pay) that may get added to our contract this next bienium. They are talking about one day a month. That is about a 4.6% reduction of pay. Our contract is currently being negotiated so who knows how it will end up.

Thanks for replying everyone. I'll be back... :-)

I will be back when I have time to give a well thought out response. Or I may do a few tiny ones as this subject (or part of it) seems to be the one affecting a lot of us the most these days.

Great blog Jules. It goes to show that no matter what or where we look, we see that people are having a tough time. I won't bring my story to your page since I don't want to start crying about it. Life does suck right now for everyone with the way that government and business have been going.

From the bail outs to the corporate packages, money is tight and very much in the spotlight right now. I find it interesting as one who has been a part of the "bigger picture" and having to budget for the bigger picture, how that process has trickled down to the individual families.

In Government, there is always checks and balances and The Bottom Line. That bottom line is often all that is seen and the process to get there is not. Each government has priorities and I guess that is what it comes down to.

Your priorities. I am reminded of these commercials I see every now and then, dealing with poverty and how some families have to choose between food or shelter because they can't afford both. The other one is Electricity or a Home. It is sad but in a time of untold wealth, there exists simultaneously an unseen world of poverty. Heck how many homeless people will be walked by in any given city today?

It comes down to your priorities and from what I have read and seen, you have the right priorities in that you are selfless and are there for the people in your life. If you gave up gaming, I would miss your laugh but I would also know that I can read your blog and catch up to you in the GAP.

Your priorities are in the right place and I foresee that things will iron themselves out for you.
